we are coming off of a year that we all want to forget.  The Covid 19 issues that is not over and all of the social and political unrest that the United States is dealing with at this time.  Here is your question:

You are a graduate of SXU.  You now run a company and are in the leadership position.  You have to address all of the employees in the company and share your vision for the company moving forward.  Please write a two page speech based upon what you have learned in this course and motivate and inspire your 200 employees.

What we learned so far: 

• How a future business professional will be able to address and deal with the current challenges in the workplace within the context of current legislation and theories
• understanding the challenges of African Americans, Asians and Latinx in the workplace and how would your leadership approach improve conditions for, and foster and environment where by these groups of individuals can excel and enjoy a positive and productive work environment
• Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and identify if current practices and or laws i.e. Title VII are necessary and effective in creating a fair and diverse workplace.
• Learning How will age as you get older impact your personal and family life. Learning  How might your religious beliefs impact your ability to do the work that you plan to do and at what time intervals. Learning  If Sexual orientation may be a factor, what steps can you take to be educated as well as have your staff educated to ensure a safe and non-discriminate work environment.

Dear SXU Family, As we gather here today, reflecting on the challenges of the past year, we acknowledge the hardships we have faced collectively, the impact of Covid-19, and the social and political unrest that has shaken our nation. However, we must also recognize the strength and resilience that emerged from these difficulties. As your leader and a proud graduate of this esteemed institution, I stand before you with hope and determination to shape our company’s future, navigating through the complexities of the current workplace landscape and embracing diversity and unity.

The world around us is evolving rapidly, and so must we. As future business professionals, we must be adaptable and proactive in addressing the challenges that lie ahead. We will foster a workplace that not only complies with current legislation but goes beyond it, creating an environment where every employee feels empowered, valued, and supported in their growth and development. By drawing upon the knowledge gained from this course, we will implement strategies that celebrate and leverage the unique strengths of every individual, regardless of their background.

One of our primary goals is to understand and address the challenges faced by African Americans, Asians, and Latinx individuals in the workplace. To achieve this, we will adopt an empathetic and inclusive leadership approach, actively seeking feedback and creating spaces where open dialogue can take place. We will implement mentorship and career development programs tailored to the needs of underrepresented groups, ensuring equal access to opportunities and resources.

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 laid a foundation for a fair and diverse workplace, but we recognize that more needs to be done. We will not only abide by the existing laws but actively seek out best practices and policies that drive true inclusivity and equity. Our commitment to diversity goes beyond legal compliance – it is an integral part of our company culture and ethos.

As we grow older, our personal and family lives may undergo changes. We pledge to support our employees during these transitions, offering flexible work arrangements and benefits that accommodate their evolving needs.
