Introduction
The purpose of the final project is to encourage students to design a training session for a selected public agency to fulfill the related goals of public management. The designed training session should be related to weekly topics (i.e., social equity). The designed training will be presented with slides (15-20 pages). The file of slides (10%) and written report (5-7 pages, single space) (20%)— which articulates the design purposes, design contents, and anticipated effects—should be submitted to Canvas no later than Oct. 16th. Students are expected to work individually for this assignment. The following sections respectively address the requirements of the designed training program, proposal, presentation, and written report.
The Designed Training & Presentation (10%)
Format. In order to generate greater impacts, the overall design should be interactive, which means that the designers should develop multiple ways to facilitate participation and prevent one-way information transmission.
Topic. The selected topic for each training design should be related to weekly topics of this class (i.e., racial discrimination under the subject of social equity). Other topics regarding public management can also be accepted but need to be approved by the instructor.
Contents. The designed training should include, but not limited to, (1) introduction: introduce the purpose of this training and address the related procedures, (2) explanations: discuss the related concepts regarding the selected topic, (3) examples: provide several examples/cases to depict the selected topic, and (4) interactive activities: include some activities to facilitate participation (i.e., FAQs, short quiz, role playing, or group discussion…etc.).
Demonstration. A file of slides (15-20 pages) should be submitted to Canvas and to demonstrate the designed training.
Others. (1) The designed training should be processed within 30 to 60 minutes. (2) The provided example of New York State can be found from the Canvas

The Written Report (20%)
The emphasis of the written repost is describing the rationale of the designed program. The related elements are explained as follows.
Introduction. This section should introduce the selected agency and its needs, which is covered in the submitted proposal. In other words, students should clearly indicate the overall objectives of the training program.
Design rationale. Within this section, students need to respectively address the overall design of the training and its rationale. For example, when a case of racial discrimination is included, student should explain why this case is appropriate to be includes and what information can be reflected from this case.
Preliminary evaluation. In order to make sure the designed training can respond to the highlighted needs, students are expected to conduct a preliminary evaluation to persuade the readers that the designed training is effective.
