A case of a 73-year-old male, Italian in origin, married, retired.

Mr. T is recently diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer in June 2022.

Mr. T is a non-smoker, drinks alcohol regularly, about 1-2 bottles of beer a day.

Mr. T is active and swims daily, he observes a balanced and healthy diet.

Mr. T has no underlying history of other medical issues and not in any medication.

Mr. T has a family history of cancer in his family, his brother died of Liver Cancer.

Mr. T finished his chemo treatment and radiation treatment in December 2022.

1 year ago, Mr. T had issues with swallowing, worsening indigestion, along with cough that does not resolve. Given the fact that Mr. T’s brothers died with cancer, Mr. T decided to consult the family doctor to further examine what is going on. Unfortunately, Mr. T was diagnosed with Esophageal cancer after the following tests PET, CT , Complete Blood works had confirmed the diagnosis dated June of 2022.

According to the Philippine Cancer Society, esophageal cancer is one of the top ten most common types of cancer in the country, with an estimated incidence rate of 2.5 cases per 100,000 population.
