Task 2 – Critical analysis of a company’s supply chain process (Max 1750 words) (60% Mark)

In the module, we have studied the logistics and supply chain processes. Now, suppose you are the supply chain manager of a company you are familiar with (chosen by yourself), critically analyse the company’s logistics process in its supply chain and discuss how would you apply the theories and principles learnt in this module to improve the supply chain performance. You are expected to analyse the whole logistics process first, and then to identify the key issue(s) or problem(s) in the company’s logistics, find out the reasons causing the problem(s) and propose appropriate solutions. Theories and principles learnt in lecturers and seminars should be applied to the selected company to justify your analysis. In addition, the critical analysis should be underpinned by up to date peer reviewed academic journal articles and examples and cases (not limited to the selected company).

Task 2 brief summary that needed:

1. Find a company(Shipper) Eg.(Manufacturing/service)
2. Need introduction of company. 150 words
3. Briefly explain supply chain flow of the company. 300 words
4. Draw a simple diagram of the supply chain flow.

5. Identify problem faced e.g. (Late Delivery)Do not use Covid19 (Main of the fish head diagram) (300 words)
6. Do out the fish bone diagram. Show 4 issues that connected to e.g. late delivery but only need to discuss 2 issues. Provide categories of root cause try to link the topics discuss in class( like transportation, inventory, distribution and sourcing)

7. Take 2 topics from the root cause then analysis and provide recommendation
8. If possible spilt to 2 parts. 1 topics roots causes, analysis and recommendation. (325 words) 1 topics roots causes analysis and recommendation.(325 words)
9. Conclusion(250 words)
10. Total need 13 to 15 or more APA academic references- mostly must be journal or books about 10 – 12 references and reduce website as much as possible. (not more than 10 years) try not to use too much on the company website.

• 10% of the marks are assigned to the presentation of the assignment and also to referencing (references must be good quality journal articles and books). It is strongly advised to use references appropriately in the text by using them where required. Also consider that some references may be used more than once in the text. Therefore, it is not just the matter of the quantity, it is also the matter of the quality of the references that are used and how you used them.

Please, make sure you answer the 2 tasks separately under a specific heading and explain the issues by using underpinning academic theories and examples for all of these questions. You are expected to use all material from lectures, seminars and also use an appropriate number of academic relevant resources including textbooks from the recommended reading list and also peer reviewed academic journal papers from the university Library and other data bases such as “Emerald”, “Science Direct” and “Business Source premier”. .
