Covid 19 Assignment

In the last eighteen months or so, the Covid 19 pandemic has swept the world, and changed the way people live, work, and interact. Research and discuss i) how our knowledge of the virus had developed in this time ii) how our knowledge of the pathology the virus causes had developed in this time iii) which public health measures work in inhibiting the spread of the virus, and why are they effective? iv) which treatment options have been scientifically proven to be effective in controlling symptoms & spread v) which treatment options have not been scientifically proven to be effective in controlling symptoms & spread

Please write up as follows:

Abstract (2 paragraphs): Summary of work:  be succinct, and outline briefly the theme of your report, with brief conclusion (I do not include the abstract in the word count). {10%} see my herbal meds paper for example of a good abstract

Introduction (~250 words):  general background, with the last sentence or 2 of the introduction being an expanded rationale/aim (be careful to write the required amount in the intro….. do not shorten it to less than 250 words) {30%}

Discussion: Discuss the findings of your research, following the guidance given above. Please note that you are not to focus on news reports/popular media reports, but need to research literature (journals/textbooks, official Health databases and other peer reviewed sources). The end of the discussion should include a short conclusion, which ties together and summarises the findings of your research (N.B. do not introduce new concepts in the conclusion) {50%}

References: CRUCIAL!!! Use the standard system recommended by la Trobe University, or any other system, if you like. The bottom line is that they must be consistent i.e. all must be formatted similarly. Remember, references obtained online should contain the website, as well as the date obtained (references in text do not count toward the word count, nor do the final references pages) {10%}
