For this assignment, you will begin thinking not only about what texts are saying, but how they are saying it. In order to prepare for this paper, pick TWO of the thematic module readings from this list:

First, you will need to carefully read or listen to both texts. Next, you will begin to compare/contrast what the sources are saying and how they are working rhetorically. You will begin to make conclusions about how they are the same or different in terms of their viewpoints, primary audiences, purposes, contexts, and their use of rhetorical strategies (such as ethos, pathos and logos). By carefully analyzing each text AND making comparisons between the texts, you will begin to understand how and why authors make the rhetorical choices that they make.
Guidelines
Your Comparative Rhetorical Analysis must:
Include an engaging introduction and conclusion. The introduction should include the full author names and titles of both texts that you are analyzing.
Include a one-sentence thesis at the end of the intro that summarizes your overall comparison of the two texts.
Thoroughly analyze BOTH texts use of ethos, pathos and logos.
Identify BOTH texts primary audience, purposes and context.
Provide ample evidence from the texts (in the form of quotes and paraphrases) to support all claims
Utilize proper quoting strategies
Cite source in-text using APA citations and on a Reference page. Papers that lack in-text and/or Reference citations will receive zero points!
Focus on strong organizational and paragraphing strategies
Be clear of major grammatical errors
Be formatted in APA style with a correct title page, header, and References page.
Be a minimum of three pages, double-spaced, using Times New Roman 12 font, plus the title and Reference page (minimum of 5 pages total)
