On January 30, 2018, three major US corporations, Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, and JPMorgan Chase announced their partnership to create solutions to address the healthcare needs of their US employees. Based on decision making situations outlined in Chapter 4 of the Zikmund textbook where potential situations are categorized based on the degree of certainty or ambiguity and perception of problem vs opportunity:

• How would you categorize this decision?
• Based on your analysis, discuss how you would evaluate the classification that is presented in your textbook?

Activity 1 – Article Review – CLO 1, CLO 2

1. Compare and contrast deductive reasoning with inductive reasoning. Give one example of each.
2. Chapter 3 of the Zikmund textbook briefly introduced the Attribution Theory.
   1. Do some research to Identify and describe key dimensions of this theory.
   2. Assuming you are a team leader in your organization, how would you apply attribution theory to assess the team members performance.
3. Your business research company has been asked to help a business understand why their sales are decreasing. Describe the procedure you should follow to address this research request and the type of business research you would recommend.
4. Visit the web site of Gallup at http://www.gallup.com , read one of the recent polls conducted by Gallup, and then list the various stages of the research process and how they were (or were not) followed in Gallup’s projects.
