It involves analyzing and presenting real case scenarios in the healthcare facility using data.

The scenario of focus concerns a pregnant woman who presented to my healthcare facility with HIV and pregnancy. This was a complex case scenario because the pregnancy was marked by domestic abuse, and also the patient reported suicide and abusing drugs during the early stages of the pregnancy. Family interventions and rehabilitation were employed until the seventh month of the patient’s pregnancy, but with inadequate nutrition and the patient’s HIV conditions, her pregnancy was adversely affected.

The patient in the case scenario requires both psychological and physical support, which calls for acquiring comprehensive patient data. The data could be collected from the patient’s family members, including her mother, sisters, and closest friends. It would be essential also to collect data on clinical records, which detail Knowledge on the monthly clinical assessments, medication history, and patient treatment plans (Hamid Ravaghi et al., 2020). The hospital can access the data on treatment history by accessing her Electronic Health Records (EHR) data.

Nurse leader’s Judgment and Reasoning

In this scenario, a nurse leader would employ clinical judgment and reasoning by assessing the data and devising the most appropriate approach to improve the patient’s well-being. The nurse leader should first seek the cause and reason the patient is experiencing her condition. The nurse leader can then reason the best solutions using evidence-based research and judge the best evidence-based solution to help the patient (Graham et al., 2018). This requires nurse leaders to analyze available data to understand the patient well before deciding on the solution to her problem.
