This is considered an acceptable opportunity to tout your achievements! It should be clear and

succinct, not just a list of examples from your portfolio. The title should be “Synthesis of

Program Portfolio.” It is not a synthesis of NLCEX – it is more comprehensive than that. Use

good transitions in preparing the paper. Examples include, “…therefore I have grown from this

by…”, “Beginning of the program I did not realize … but now…”. After conducting an analysis

of the portfolio documents, synthesize and pull together your reflections as you prepare the

synthesis paper. Conclude the paper with how personal worldview has developed during

the BSN program. Also, state some specific areas for personal and professional growth.

Portfolio Documents

Through specific examples, documents, and/or video clips from coursework, students should

relate their growth in the outcomes throughout the program. Documents should include excerpts

from prior journals and/or recordings, simulation video clips; evidence-based papers, ATI scores,

reflections on immersion experiences, psychomotor skill record, etc. Students should include the

clinical evaluation tools from all clinical courses, including the synthesis course. It should also

include the NCLEX review plan that you have developed in preparation for taking the NCLEXRN® examination. Students will also need to project their thoughts on their nursing practice over

the next five years (a five-year plan)
