Problem Solving
Problem-solving involves identifying a problem, identifying the possible causes, and finally coming up with possible solutions. There are various steps in the entire problem-solving process: defining the problem, problem analysis, generating possible solutions, evaluating options, decision making, implementation and reflection. The most important part of problem-solving should be getting to understand the role of each party in the process.
Based on the case study, there are various types of problems. The first problem in this case scenario is that the parent cannot decide whether to help her child with her assignment or let her handle it by herself. Being unable to determine how much intervention to put in was quite the problem. The competitive nature of parents is the other observable problem.
